205-day weaning weight calculator

Adjusted weaning weight the BIF way. Age from days or from birth and wean dates.

BIF 205-day adjusted weaning weight levels the field so a calf weaned at 180 days can sit next to one weaned at 230. You need birth weight, weaning weight, calf age (or birth and wean dates), and age of dam. Optional 365-day yearling weight uses the same idea later. Weigh-ins on this place live on the herd pages — Six is one. Pair it with heart girth tape, calving dates, and freezer beef.

Questions

What is 205-day adjusted weaning weight?

It is weaning weight adjusted to a common 205-day age (and usually age-of-dam) so calves can be compared fairly.

Do I need exact birth and wean dates?

Days of age work. Birth and wean dates are fine if that is what you wrote in the book.

Is adjusted WW the same as sale weight?

No. It is a comparison number for ranch records, not the weight on the buyer’s scale.

Planning only. BIF 9th edition formula and age-of-dam additives. Official window is 160–250 days. Missing birth weight defaults to 70 lb.
