Cows grazing among the pine trees

Morning found a bunch of chickens already busy inside, blacks and whites and one that looked gray. A few had hopped up on the roost while the others stayed on the shavings. That rooster with the long feathers was standing there like he owned it all, which made me grin.

Later in the day a few hens showed up out by the wire fence, just standing around. The barn was empty that afternoon, nothing moving under the hanging light. Some goats were in the pens toward evening, and then a pair from Pumpkin's bunch had their heads down grazing when the light got low.
