Y'all, Pasture 2a at 5:20 PM had a tan donkey and a white donkey moseying the pens by the shelter while a dark cow hung back in the shade, pine straw everywhere and nobody kicking up much dust. Over on Pasture 1 around 5:42 PM the crew actually showed up — white cow parked at the hay ring, a couple brown ones working the second bale, two more brown critters grazing off in the trees, and one gray goat just standing there like he was taking attendance. Chicken Coop at 7:46 PM was the real party, half a dozen birds in the shavings under that lamp, rooster on patrol and the rest milling around like they owned the place. Then Inside Barn at 8:53 PM? Empty as a Sunday collection plate, just a lonely bulb and a gate. Pasture 2b at 8:54 PM same story — night fence, nobody home, the critters already clocked out.
